How it all started - Nadia, co-founder of Her Crowns
After my second child and years of working in the corporate world, I experienced firsthand the lack of garments that could keep up with my busy life without compromising style. Everything was either too tight, too plain, too trendy or simply impractical – no pockets, no flexibility. There were few options that truly served my needs as a working professional, a mother and a woman who values looking effortlessly put together.
Growing up, every Saturday I would accompany my mother to the local market where she would select vibrant eye-catching fabrics that she would later use to sew me the latest dress or shalwar kameez. I would watch her craft beautiful clothing for her clients, learning from her how fabric, fit and design come together to create something special.
Inspired by her, I started using her “Brother” sewing machine, making hair bobbles. As the years flew by, my passion and expertise grew and I began personalising and tailoring my own store-brought garments, adding a unique touch to each piece.
Her Crowns
During maternity leave, I started designing garments for everyday wear that were versatile and timeless with practical features such as pockets, adjustable splits, removable belts and adjustable sleeves. My vision was to create garments for busy women and busy mothers so that they could feel effortlessly styled without overthinking makeup, hair and accessories. Her Crowns collections are designed to be worn as everyday dresses and are effortlessly elevated for special occasions.
I built a small, trusted team to create limited quantities of garments. Together, we hand select fabrics from local traders, not big factories. We use local pattern cutters to ensure limited surplus fabric, we only use local seamstresses who carefully hand craft our garments and have incredible talents and techniques that have been passed down to them through generations of their families.

We prioritise working with local traders and small teams we have visited ourselves and we trust. Our team contributes to manufacturing our garments whilst sharing our values, ensuring that ethical practices are at the heart of our collections. With each piece carefully crafted, our customers can be confident that their choices not only reflect their unique taste but also contribute to a more responsible fashion industry.
